Company Profile
Medway Investments Ltd. (“Medway”) is the supplier of the Medway Hospital, a
turn-key hospital facility, comprising building, plant and equipment and medical
supplies, that is fully operational upon delivery and installation.
Provision of medical care is a universal and basic need and there is a strong
demand for hospital facilities in developing countries to satisfy this need. The
Medway Hospital is designed to fill this market niche for a modern, yet simple
and affordable hospital. The market for the Medway Hospital comprises every
developing country in the world and even some developed countries. Reduced
government spending world-wide including health expenditures have led
governments to look for cheaper alternatives to traditional ways of providing
health care to their people.
The Medway Hospital concept was developed to meet the demand from developing
countries for hospitals that are affordable, provide a high standard of medical
care and can be constructed in a short period of time. Existing hospitals in
developing countries are, in general, constructed in an inferior manner, use
non-compatible and unserviceable medical equipment and provide inefficient
medical care.
Potential customers are primarily national governments, humanitarian
organizations, development agencies, private enterprise and the medical
profession.
Contact has been initiated with governments and other parties interested in
purchasing Medway Hospitals in China, El Salvador, Ecuador, Ghana, Mali, Peru,
the Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Sudan, Togo and Vietnam.
Financing for the purchaser of the Medway Hospitals has been discussed with the
Export Import Bank of the United States, international aid and development
agencies, development banks and private charitable foundations and investors.
The components of the Medway Hospital meet U.S. regulatory standards and have
been carefully chosen and integrated to meet the requirements of buyers for
developing countries. All components of the hospital facilities are under
warranty and hospital staff are trained by the suppliers of the equipment in the
operation and maintenance of such equipment. Several configurations of the
Medway Hospital are available including 100-bed and 80-bed hospital facilities
with pre-engineered buildings, an 80-bed mobile tent facility and a 41-bed
private clinic. The installation period is approximately 90 days.
The design of the Medway Hospital also provides for various combinations of the
physical buildings and components to permit the purchaser considerable choice
and flexibility to meet their requirements for hospital facilities and to permit
future additions or modification of the design as the needs of the buyer change
over time.
There is also provision for continuing support services to the Medway Hospital
in the nature of re-supply of pharmaceuticals and supplies and maintenance and
upgrading of medical equipment, building and plant components. Training
facilities are available for medical and administrative staff as may from time
to time be required in the operation and maintenance of the equipment and
hospital facility. Medway also maintains an association with training hospital
facilities in the United States to provide education and training to medical
personnel as may be required, as a result of upgrading or acquiring new
equipment or new medical procedures.
Medway commenced operations in 1990. After carrying out extensive market
research and analysis the company launched the concept of the Medway Hospital.
Medway sought out a marketing company to sell the Medway Hospital and contracted
with Medic International Sales Consultants Corp. (“Medic”) to carry out this
activity. Medic provides Medway many recommendations to improve various facets
of the hospital facility which are garnered from their many sales contacts. The
design and content of the Medway Hospital is constantly being improved to
accommodate the needs of buyers.
Medway works closely with equipment manufacturers and professionals to ensure
the highest standards are maintained in the delivery of the Medway Hospital.
Medway is in the business of supplying a modern, efficient and affordable
hospital. Medway endeavors to supply a hospital with a high standard of quality
and value that buyers can rely on.
