QCVL Display vending machines with $3 or $4 mechanisms are available for the
entrepreneur (please see Display Machine
Page on this site). |
 |
Standard packs
of three
DUREX®
Sheik Sensi-Creme condoms for these vending machines wholesale for approx. $1.40
per pack in Canada (see
Condom Supplies Page). These condom packs would normally be
dispensed from a machine with a $3 coin mechanism, however a $4 mechanism
may be suitable for some locations.
|
 |
We also supply packs of three of the more expensive
DUREX®
novelty condoms (Tropical,
Performax and Intense Sensation). These are more suited to the $4 mechanism
machines. Two machines (one in the women's and one in the men's washroom)
allow you to sell two different varieties of
DUREX®
condoms at one location.
|
 |
With QCVL
machines, entrepreneurs have a much higher profit margin than with the
standard North American condom vending machines; every time someone purchases
condoms from QCVL machines the vendor collects $2, $3, or $4 depending on
the machine's coin mechanism.
|
 |
With QCVL machines the
customer receives better value also; $2 - $4 for a pack of three DUREX®
top brand condoms, compared to the standard Canadian machines that usually
charge $1 for a single condom that is not a major brand (please see
Social
Implications Page
on this site). |
 |
Coin
mechanism adaptation kits for the Display Machine are available from us to allow you to adapt your
machine's
mechanism for higher charge amounts. This provides some flexibility and allows
for potential future inflation. |
 |
Placement of your machines will affect your sales so look for busy locations.
Examples would be bars, night clubs, high schools, universities, colleges,
clubs, shopping malls, airports, stadiums, recreational facilities, holiday
resorts, factories, public transport terminals etc.

 |
You
may need to offer a small percentage of profits to facilities where you
install machines. During our market research however, we have found that bar
owners for example are often very socially responsible people, they realize
that people are less careful under the influence of alcohol and they often
appreciate that condom vending machines provide vital protection for their
young customers. Likewise educational facilities are often very concerned for
the well-being of their students. It is possible that some facilities may not
require fee. |
 |
There are very few condom vending machines in Canada. The
reasons for this are outlined on our
Social
Implications Page. Our machines
and business model overcome these problems and provide a good opportunity for
the entrepreneur interested in the vending business and looking for a field
that has not already been fully exploited. Designing the QCVL project to be a
profitable business opportunity for the entrepreneur was essential if we were
to achieve an objective of reducing unwanted pregnancies and STI's (including
AIDS), on a large scale. |
